Hello and welcome to Gifted and Reading. I am very pleased to be part of the Deer Creek Elementary School family. I am looking forward to being a part of your child’s education.

     I attended UCO in Edmond where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education and my Master’s degree in Reading.

     I have taught for 17 years in Oklahoma City Public Schools. My teaching experience includes first, second, third and fifth grade. I have also been coordinator for a reading program in Oklahoma City Public Schools.

     I have practiced Great Expectations for 15 years in my classroom and had the honor of meeting Marva Collins and visiting her school in Chicago.

     I have three sons, Mark, Tim and Jeff.  My husband Steve and I enjoy spending our time with our wonderful grandchildren Bryson, Gracie, Ava, Lila and Kambyr.  All of which live in Edmond.  During our free time we enjoy going to the lake and traveling. Our pride and joy besides our grandchildren is Emma our miniature Schnauzer.

     I considered it a great privilege to be here at Deer Creek Elementary working with the best teachers and teaching your children.
