I entered the teaching profession in 1980 as a fourth grade teacher in Antlers, Oklahoma. I have also taught fourth and fifth graders in Temple and Paris, Texas.

In 1990 our family returned to Oklahoma, and I joined the incredible staff at Deer Creek Elementary School as a first grade teacher. All of my years at Deer Creek have been with my first grade friends! I am also a Great Expectations Instructor and a National Board Certified Teacher. My husband, Tom, is a teacher and football coach at Del City High School.

We have two wonderful children who are Deer Creek graduates. Ross  is a private guitar teacher, player, and song writer. Andrea is a teacher at the Goddard School and a college student.

I attend Henderson Hills Baptist Church where I love being a part of  the Worship Team (choir) and a volunteer Biblical Encourager at the Ministries of Jesus Clinic in Edmond. It is a joy and an honor to be at Deer Creek Elementary School with such awesome students and supportive, involved parents!
