My name is Jennifer Parsons, and this is my 4th year
teaching at Deer Creek Elementary. I completed my student teaching
here as well, and also spent a semester as a paraprofessional after
graduating in December 2005. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree
in severe-profound special education; and I am certified in the
areas of severe/profound, mild/moderate, and elementary education.
Before going back to college in 2000, I spent 6 years at a physical
therapy clinic; and before that I spent 10 years at home with my 3
daughters. They are grown now and living in Norman. The oldest
(Erin) is in the OU colorguard and studying Elementary Education.
Julie is planning a career in psychology, and Torey is a senior in
high school. She will be attending USAO next year studying English.
However, I won’t be left with an empty nest, as I will still have 4
dogs and 3 guinea pigs to keep me company.
I enjoy watching Erin at the OU games (which is tough for a Cowboy
fan!). Torey is also involved with her marching band, and the girls
and I enjoy going to watch her perform at contests around the state.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching old movies, and working
in my yard. During the fall my favorite pastime is College football.
I look forward to the upcoming school year and partnering with you
in your child’s education. |
