Welcome to Fourth Grade, I am so excited you are here!  My name is Mrs. Rachel Owens and this is my second year at Deer Creek Elementary School.  I was raised in Frederick, Oklahoma where I graduated Valedictorian from Frederick High School.  Then, I attended the University of Central Oklahoma and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  I have four years of experience, where I taught third grade for three years in The Woodlands, Texas.  My husband, Michael, is a drilling engineer for ExxonMobil on a four week rotation to Sakhalin Island, Russia.  I am truly excited to get the chance to teach your child as they go through fourth grade!

I am a teacher because I love children!  They are the future of tomorrow and I am committed to ensuring all children become successful life long learners.  I hold high expectations for myself and your child.  It is my responsibility to offer your child my very best; in return I expect their best as well.  A child’s opportunities to learn and grow are greatest when the family and school communicate, support, and work together.  Deer Creek has an amazing reputation in this area, and I love being a part of such success!  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions, concerns, or comments.  Together we can make a difference!
