[Visit Ms. Mustain's Website]Ms. Mustain has taught school for the past
twelve years. She taught fourth grade in Arlington, Texas, for four years. The
last eight years, she has taught fifth grade at Putnam City Central
Intermediate, Nichols Hills Elementary, and now for the sixth year, the fabulous
Deer Creek Elementary. She spent three years at the University of Oklahoma and
enjoyed cheering for the Sooners, and spending time in her Chi-Omega sorority.
Ms. Mustain graduated with her Elementary degree and is certified in Early
Childhood Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
You may have seen Ms. Mustain in the newspaper as she has been acknowledged
for her creative ways in which she teaches Math and Science, and was also
published in the Daily Oklahoman for the innovative way in which she teaches
writing. She has also been a past recipient and participant in the Oklahoma
Foundation for Excellence Colonial Williamsburg Summer Institute 2002. Ms.
Mustain served on the Grant Writing Team that earned Deer Creek Elementary a
$79,000 grant from the OETT to purchase school-wide Smart Baords. She was also
recognized in the spring of 2007 by the NBA as Hornet’s Teacher of the Quarter.
In her spare time she enjoys loving on her cat named Chloe, her big German
Sheppard - Lab mixed dog named Colton, and energetic Pointer name Missie. Ms.
Mustain loves to travel, shop, go to OU sporting events, and cook. She had great
fun reliving her OU cheerleading days cheering the alumni Homecoming football
game against Colorado. Ms. Mustain’s biggest fans and loves of her life include
spoiling her favorite niece and nephew (who are future Deer Creek Antlers).
