Hello, my name is Patricia Johnson and I have been a part of this exceptional
school for eight years. My husband David, Chaplin at Mercy Hospital, and I have
two married daughters. Our precious grandchildren, Kayla and Kyle, keep us busy
every Friday evening and Saturday.
My educational career has given me a wide variety of opportunities from the
classroom to administration. As a classroom teacher, I have taught
pre-kindergarten through 6th, with the exception of fourth. Administrative roles
have given opportunities as principal of several Christian schools, Early
Childhood and Title coordinator for Putnam City Schools, and administrative
intern for Deer Creek. Special projects include revising the P.A.S.S. for our
state department of education, author for Scotts Foresman/Addision Wesley,
beginning the Four Year Old program and Reading Recovery for Putnam City.
I hold three masters degrees, one in Early Childhood from Southern Nazarene
University, another in administration from the University of Central Oklahoma
and a Christian Education degree.
Not only do I have a passion for working with children, I enjoy teaching
teachers. I am beginning my seventeenth year as an adjunct professor. Speaking
at regional and national conferences and teaching Great Expectations in the
summer takes my spare time.
Teaching children how to think, to not fear mathematics, and to fall in love
with reading is why I am passionate about what I do. When not working in the
field of education, I am enjoying my family, speaking at Christian women’s
retreats or writing.
We attend Metropolitan Baptist Church where I am involved in the deaf,
children’s, women’s and prison ministries.
Living life to its fullest and giving of ones self to others brings great
pleasure and purpose to my life.
