I
would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is
Amy Johnson and I will be your child’s math teacher this school
year.
To give you a glimpse of who I am, I would like to share a
little about myself. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State
University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in May
1997. In the fall of 1998, I was employed by Enid Public Schools
where I spent six of my thirteen years of teaching. Three years
were spent at St. Joseph Catholic School. This is my fifth year at
Deer Creek Elementary!
My family consists of my husband, Adam, and three children,
Jordan, Isabel and Garrick. Adam is a Field Controller for Great
White Energy. Jordan will be a senior, Isabel will be in the
seventh grade and Garrick will be in the fourth grade. All three of
my kids are Deer Creek Antlers!
In my spare time I enjoy attending my children’s activities
and reading. I also thoroughly enjoy learning. I am a SMART
trainer and a coordinator for the Deer Creek Mentoring Program.
Your child is coming to my classroom as a unique individual
with different experiences, interests, backgrounds, learning styles,
and dreams for the future. In order to create a learning
environment, which draws on the strengths of diversity and
individuality I will turn to my Professional Code of Ethics.
My
Vision is to be:
· An understanding and caring person
· To set high standards for myself as well as my students
· To help each student to achieve their goals
· To listen and act with a caring spirit that reflects love,
kindness, gentleness, goodness, patience and joy.
I am looking forward to an outstanding school year! Please
feel free to come by and introduce yourself as we begin the 2011 –
2012 journey to success!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Amy Johnson
