I would like to take this opportunity
to introduce myself. My name is Amy Johnson and I will be teaching
fifth grade math this school year. This is a new endeavor for me
and I’m very excited.
To give
you a glimpse of who I am, I would like to share a little about
myself. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University
with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in May 1997. In the
fall of 1998, I was employed by Enid Public Schools where I spent
six of my nine years of teaching. The other three years were spent
at St. Joseph Catholic School. This is my third year at Deer Creek
Elementary!
My
family consists of my husband, Adam, and three children, Jordan,
Isabel and Garrick. Adam is a Field Controller for Great White
Energy. Jordan will be a sophomore, Isabel will be in the fifth
grade and Garrick will be in the second grade. All three of my kids
are Deer Creek Antlers!
In my
spare time I enjoy attending my children’s activities, reading and
playing tennis. I also thoroughly enjoy learning. This summer I
attended a conference and became a SMART trainer and I am also a
coordinator for the Deer Creek Mentoring Program.
Your
child is coming to my classroom as a unique individual with
different experiences, interests, backgrounds, learning styles, and
dreams for the future. In order to create a learning environment,
which draws on the strengths of diversity and individuality I will
turn to my Professional Code of Ethics.
My Vision is to be:
· An understanding and caring
person
· To set high standards for
myself as well as my students
· To help each student to
achieve their goals
· To listen and act with a
caring spirit that reflects love, kindness, gentleness, goodness,
patience and joy.
I am
looking forward to an outstanding school year! Please feel free to
come by and introduce yourself as we begin the 2009 – 2010 journey!
