Hello, welcome to a magnificent year in 2nd grade!  This year will be my third year here at the fabulous Deer Creek Elementary, and I’m thrilled.  It’s a real joy to be part of such a spectacular school and staff.  I am a 1997 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for 7 years, all but one of those years in 2^nd grade.  I taught four years in Tulsa at Cedar Ridge Elementary before my husband and I were transferred here in 2002.  After staying home with our children for 4 years, I decided it was time to get back in the classroom, I missed it too much!  I missed all of those amazing “ah-ha!” moments when a child gets something for the first time.  And, as they say, “the rest is history”.

My husband, Ty and I have been married for 9 years and have 2 marvelous children.  Our son, Tucker is 6 and will be in 1^st grade this year…our own Deer Creek Antler!  We also have a daughter, Tatum who is 3, and she can’t wait to be in school here, she loves visiting Deer Creek! 

My free time is spent with family and friends.  We enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities.  We love to go for walks in the neighborhood, spend time at the park or zoo, swim, or go for bike rides.  I also like to read books or watch HGTV to relax.  I’m a “project” junkie!  We’re constantly working on something around the house for fun.  It seems like the projects are never ending.

I am so proud to be part of this school and I can’t wait to meet everyone.  We’re going to have a magnificent 2^nd grade year!
