Hello, welcome to a magnificent year in reading!  This year is my sixth year here at the fabulous Deer Creek Elementary.  It’s a real joy to be part of such a spectacular school and sensational staff!

I am a 1997 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. This year will be my 11th year as an educator and I'm so, so excited about teaching passport reading!  I taught 2nd grade for 8 years so I understand just how essential reading is to our young learners.  My previous teaching experience includes 4 years in Tulsa; 1 year at Jenks Southeast Elementary and 3 years at Cedar Ridge Elementary.  And, after staying at home for 3-1/2 years to be with our children, I took a position teaching 3rd grade in OKC.  Once I was back in the classroom, I knew how much I missed being a Teacher, I really missed "teaching", I missed all of those amazing "ah-ha!" moments and the look on a child's face when they learn something for the first time.  So, I applied for this position, and as they say, "the rest is history".

My husband, Ty and I have been married for 12 years and have 2 spectacular children.  Our son, Tucker is in 4th grade and our daughter, Tatum is in 1st grade;  our very own Deer Creek Antlers! They are such a bright light in our lives and it's amazing to see all of the wonderful things that happen here at Deer Creek Elementary as a parent and a teacher!

On weekends you will find us at our children's sporting events or with friends and family.  We love to spend time outside.  We go to the park, go for walks in the neighborhood, spend time in the yard, and so on.  We are very busy bodies!

I am so proud to be part of this magnificent school and I can’t wait to meet everyone.  We’re going to have a marvelous year in Reading!
