Welcome back for another great year at Deer Creek Elementary! This will be my second year teaching with Deer Creek. I am honored to have the privilege of being your child’s teacher and working with such a fantastic staff this year. I had a wonderful first year and learned a lot. Second graders are such a joy to teach and be around. I am thrilled to help them build long lasting relationships, learn many skills, and explore curriculum inside and outside of the classroom.

Teaching is and will always be my passion. I intend to give your child an amazing experience throughout their second grade year with fun and learning. I can’t wait to meet my new classroom family and begin an exciting new year!

Here is a little something about myself. I grew up in the Putnam City district.  I graduated from Oklahoma State University with my degree in Elementary Education. I am also certified in early childhood education. I have taken a course with Great Expectations and implement the principles in my classroom. I completed my student teaching right here at Deer Creek Elementary.  Mrs. Amy Johnson was my mentor teacher. I have had several learning experiences in elementary and middle school classrooms throughout the years.  This will be my second year teaching and as always, I will need your support in having a successful year. I believe together we can ensure that your child will have the best learning experience possible while keeping their personal needs in mind.

September 1, 2007 I married my high school sweetheart of five years. My husband, Jared, graduated pre-med from Oklahoma State University. He is currently a 1LT in the Army Reserves. His unit returned safely from Iraq this past February. We have a one year and five month old Border Collie named (Money) Penny (Bond fans will understand). We currently do not have any children, but plan to extend our family in the near future. We enjoy spending time with our family and friends. Some of our hobbies are hunting, fishing, and traveling.
