Hello and welcome to a super year in second grade!  My name is Marianne Austin, and this is my sixth year to teach at Deer Creek Elementary School.  I am very proud to teach at such a fantastic school!  I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a summa cum laude degree in elementary education along with certification to teach mathematics.  I’ve taught 4^th and 5^th grade at DCES, and I am very excited to teach 2^nd grade this year!  Before teaching at DCES, I taught math at the Advanced Science and Technology Education Center (ASTEC) Charter School in Oklahoma City.

My husband, Caleb, and I have been married for seven years.  He is a Civil Engineer for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.  We are the very, very proud parents of two fantastic children. Our son, Henry, turns three in September.  He’s a very active and adorable little boy who keeps my husband and me very busy!!  Our little princess, Elizabeth, turns one in September.  Elizabeth loves to watch her big brother and follows him everywhere he goes.  We also have two wonderful dogs named Buddy and Gus who always keep us smiling.  I grew up in the small town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, and I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. 

 My favorite hobby is to have fun with my family.  In my spare time, I also enjoy shopping, reading, going to the movies with my husband, and watching college sports.  I especially enjoy cheering on the Oklahoma State Cowboys!  Go Pokes!!
