 Hello! My name is Tiana Plemons and I am the
vocal music teacher. I am very excited to be a part of the Deer
Creek family!
I would like to tell you a little bit about
myself. I just got married on July 10th to Kyle Plemons. We had a
destination wedding in Mexico and it was absolutely perfect! We
love our life here in Oklahoma and we know we are incredibly
blessed! People always ask where I am from. I have to say I am
from the Army and we moved around a lot. My family currently lives
in Denver, Colorado. When I visit my family I love to go hiking and
white water rafting. I have tried on several occasions to snowboard
but I’m just not that good at it and I am scared of heights!
In 2001 I traveled from Denver, Colorado to
Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma Baptist University where I received my
degree in Vocal music education. I am certified to teach K-12th
grade vocal music. At OBU I had the privilege to be the student
conductor for the University Mixed Chorale as well as the student
conductor for the Young Singers of Central Oklahoma. This is where
I found my passion to teach music. I love to teach and I love
music.
I began my teaching career three
years ago in Mid-Del schools where I was “Rookie teacher of the
Year” at Cleveland Bailey Elementary. This is my first year at Deer
Creek elementary and I am very excited to see what this year has in
store! My hope is that each student will find some aspect of music
they love, whether it is through Broadway musicals, learning an
instrument, or even learning how to be a better singer. I look
forward to meeting everyone who is a part of Deer Creek Elementary!
