Welcome to Mrs. Martin's First Grade Class!  I am extremely excited to be teaching this school year at Deer Creek Elementary.  I have a passion and love for children and could not be happier to be a part of each of your children's lives.

I received my degree from the University of Oklahoma and look forward to building my teaching career in the Deer Creek District.  I believe in the necessity for children to learn in an open and honest environment filled with love and learning.  I am especially interested in the growth of their reading skills and love for learning as these will carry them on through life.  It never hurts to work on handwriting also!

I recently was married on May 2, 2009 to my wonderful husband, Adam.  I have one step-daughter, Allison, who is three and keeps me on my feet and prepared for my first graders!  We also have two adorable dogs, Tally and Snickers.  The kids at school love to hear about the dogs!  They all LOVE animals!

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's learning experience.  I make it my goal to encourage them in their journey and instill a zeal for learning in each of them!
