Welcome to Kindergarten!  My name is Meredith Harrison and I am very excited to be teaching at DCES again this year.  This is my fifth year teaching in Deer Creek Public Schools and it is a wonderful place to be. I was born and raised in Edmond and love living here.

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with my bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education in 2006.  In 2007, I married my high school sweetheart, Chris Harrison. He just graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in May from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and will be a Pharmacist for Walgreens.  We have one baby, a yellow lab named Ellie.  She is a precious puppy but she is trouble!  I love traveling, reading, baking, and OU football! 

I believe every child is capable of learning and has the ability to succeed in my classroom.  It is important to focus on children’s strengths in the classroom instead of only focusing on areas that may need improvement.  I want my students to feel they can succeed in anything they do.  I also believe it is extremely important for all children to feel loved and accepted for who they are.

Parents are a very important part of a child’s education.  We love to have parents come help with art projects, seasonal projects, parties, etc.  If you would like to help out in our classroom let me know.
