Welcome to first grade! This will be my third
year teaching at Deer Creek Elementary School and I
couldn't be more thrilled. We have an exciting
year ahead filled with many fun learning
opportunities.
My name is DeAnne Harris and I grew up in Edmond,
Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of
Central Oklahoma where I received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Elementary Education. I previously
taught first grade in Castle Rock, Colorado and I spent
many years working with young children. I have
received training in Great Expectations, A+ Schools, and
Love and Logic.
I am blessed with a wonderful family. I have
been happily married to my husband, Stace, for 15
years. Stace is a senior account executive for Hospira
Worldwide Inc. selling hospital products and
pharmaceuticals. We have two wonderful
children that attend Deer Creek Elementary.
Our daughter Katelyn is in fifth grade this year and
our son Tyler is in third grade. We also have
a fun and hyper Jack Russell Terrier named Copper.
I love spending time with my family and friends. We
enjoy swimming, snow skiing, playing games, watching
movies together, and traveling. I also enjoy
reading, and I am an avid soccer mom and a baseball
fan too!
The students,
faculty, and parents at Deer Creek Elementary are
outstanding and I feel privileged to be a part of
this amazing school district! It is my belief
that every child is capable of learning and has the
ability to succeed in our classroom. I want my
students to feel they can achieve anything.
Our classroom environment is one where students feel
free to be themselves and are comfortable taking
risks. I believe it is extremely important for
all children to feel loved and accepted for who they
are.
If you have any questions or
concerns, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail
me throughout the school year. The best way to
contact me is by e-mail at
harrisd@deercreek.k12.ok.us. You can leave
a voice message for me at 348-9100 ext. 4568, but I
am not able to check my voice mail as frequently.
It will be my privilege to get to know each and
every one of you. I am looking forward to a
fabulous first grade year of learning together!
