Hello everyone!! My name is Leslie Bravo and I’m the new speech
therapist at Deer Creek Elementary School. I’m so excited to be
part of this wonderful staff, and look forward to working with the
students and parents at DCES.
I graduated with my
B.A. and M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from Oklahoma State
University (Go Pokes!!!). I taught in Moore for several years after
graduation and then stayed home to raise my five sons—yes, FIVE
BOYS!!! Jake, 26, owns his own pest control company after graduating
in Entomology from OSU and is married to Megan. They have two
children, Braelyn-3 (I finally got a girl!!) and Maddox-1. Cody,
24, is attending OSU, majoring in Business, and his wife Nataly
recently graduated from OSU. She is a microbiologist in a lab
part-time and is the assistant girl’s basketball coach for
Stillwater High School. They are expecting my third grandchild next
Spring. Zach, 23, is a student at BYU and is an IT major. Luke, 20,
is on a mission for the LDS church in Bolivia and Jackson, my 15 ˝
year old, is a sophomore at Stillwater High School. Needless to
say, I have fun being a Mom to five sons—there’s never a dull
moment! However, being a grandmother is even better!!!
Before coming to DCES,
I worked at Frontier Public School in Red Rock, OK for 11 years. I
recently married Mark Bravo and relocated to Edmond,OK. My husband,
Mark, is a fitness coach/running consultant in the OKC/Edmond area.
You may have seen him on Channel 4 as the color commentator for the
OKC Memorial Marathon. And no, I do not run, but I love to walk and
completed the 2008 OKC Memorial Half Marathon in 3:15. I also love
to cycle and am a certified PADI scuba-diver. The ocean is a
favorite vacation destination of mine. My favorite activity,
however, is spending time with my family. Having grown up in OKC,
but living in Stillwater for the last 24 years, it’s been fun to be
back in my old “stompin’ grounds”.
Teaching children to
communicate, to the best of their ability, is my passion. I love
children and feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with
them. We are going to have a fantastic year!!! |
