Peer Mediators
Conflicts
are a part of our relationships. The most common conflicts
that occur at school are teasing, rumors, arguments over
game rules, and put-downs. This program is designed to
teach students how to help resolve these types of problems
between two students. When an agreement is reached between
two disputants, an agreement form is signed by all parties.
Potential mediations may be screened through the counselor
and physical conflict or larger problems are handled by
school staff.
Students
who are selected participate in a training program in the
fall and additional meetings as necessary during lunch.
Mediators will be expected to be “on duty” one day every two
weeks. They are expected to be a role model for other
students at all times.
