Deer Creek
Elementary Scores a Perfect 1500 on the State's API - TWO
YEARS IN A ROW!!
Deer Creek Elementary earned a perfect 1500 on the Academic
Performance Index (API), the highest possible score based on
achievement tests and daily attendance mandated by the "No
Child Left Behind Act." The API score measures school
performance. It allows educators an opportunity to chart
their progress toward school improvement. This achievement
is the result of efforts by parents, students, teachers, and
district administrators.
Laura Crain - Wal-Mart Teacher of
the Year
Wal-Mart named Laura Crain, kindergarten teacher at DCES, as the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year.
She was presented a $1,000 check as an award. Congratulations Laura on this special recognition.

School
Deer Creek Elementary was named a model school for
the sixth year in a
row. Visitors from around the country visit Deer
Creek Elementary to
see the practices and tenets implemented within the
school and
classroom. Congratulations DCES on receiving this
